Tea

Cascara

The Cascara coffee cherry infusion is enjoyed hot or as an iced tea. It boosts the level of valuable antioxidants in the body, tastes wonderfully fruity, and provides energy.

For our Cascara coffee cherry tea, we use only coffee cherries that are grown directly on our own farm or sourced from farmers in the region. By using an actual byproduct, the pulp of the coffee cherry, we ensure that the local coffee farmers we work with have additional income.

Matcha

We source our organic Matcha tea from the Swiss company kingnature. Founded in 2011, kingnature focuses on scientifically proven, plant-based vital substances. Just like our Tropical Mountains coffee is a popular pick-me-up, more and more people are discovering the revitalizing effects of Japanese Matcha tea.

Hard shell, soft core? Congratulations. With me, the coffee cherry, it's the other way round. You enjoy my hard core, the coffee bean, every day. But my soft shell, the cascara, is not without its own. It contains vitamin B2, vitamin E and valuable antioxidants for your health. Plus, of course, the tried and tested stimulant caffeine. You can brew me like a tea: Simply add 6 g of cascara to 2dl of hot water, let it steep for 5 minutes and then add some honey. Done. The CASCARA coffee cherry infusion is also suitable as an iced tea or for cool drinks. It increases the level of valuable antioxidants in the body and gives energy.CASCARA coffee cherry teaCASCARA lies somewhere at the interface between coffee and tea - although it comes from the coffee plant, the drink does not taste like coffee at all. CASCARA is often described as having a sweet, fruity taste with notes of rosehip, hibiscus, cherry, red currant, mango or even tobacco.Tropical Mountains CASCARA: Community CoffeeFor CASCARA coffee cherry tea, we only use coffee cherries that we grow directly on our own farm or that come from farmers in the region. By using an actual waste product, the pulp of the coffee cherry, we ensure that the local coffee farmers we work with have an additional income. The history of Tropical MountainsThe development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.Respect makes the tasteAnd as Tropical Mountains evolves, we are relying on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.

Discover Matcha tea in organic quality as an alternative to coffee! In Japan, the birthplace of Matcha tea, the traditional drink has been consumed for centuries and in Europe, Matcha is gaining more and more followers.Matcha tea has a long tradition in Japanese tea ceremonies and is often associated with calmness, meditation, and mindfulness. The ritual of drinking Matcha is therefore a source of relaxation and well-being for many people.kingnature Matcha Powder: Traditional Pick-Me-UpIn a bowl of Matcha tea, there is approximately as much caffeine as in an espresso. However, the human body tolerates it better because it is bound to the tannins of the tea. In coffee, on the other hand, it is isolated. At the same time, Matcha contains a lot of L-Theanine – an amino acid that has a calming effect and significantly reduces the stimulating effect of caffeine. Matcha is therefore a flavorful alternative for people looking to reduce their coffee consumption.By the way: Matcha tea is often considered a superfood because it is rich in antioxidants and can potentially offer various health benefits.Organic Matcha TeaOnly 1% of Japanese tea farmers plant green tea in Matcha quality. Matcha is one of the rarest tea varieties, as only a total of 0.05% of tea grown worldwide falls under Matcha. This explains its extraordinary exclusivity. The Matcha powder from kingnature is organic certified and produced in Wädenswil ZH.PreparationAdd 1 teaspoon of Matcha powder to about 60 ml of hot water (max 80˚C), stir vigorously.
