This organic coffee from Brazil is grown and harvested exclusively by women—women who have fought to find their place in the male-dominated coffee industry.
With every cup, you directly support Brazilian small-scale female farmers of the “Café Femenino” project, who cultivate their coffee organically with great dedication, trade fairly, and live self-determined lives.
Brasileña is a balanced 100% Arabica coffee with sweet notes of chocolate, caramel, and ripe fruits—perfect for those who enjoy a harmonious, well-rounded coffee with character. Ideal as café crème or espresso.
Tropical Mountains BRASILEÑA: Project Coffee “Café Femenino”
For BRASILEÑA coffee, we use only the green coffee from the Brazilian “Café Femenino” project:
Equality through Land Rights and Self-Determination
The Café Femenino project is exceptional in many ways, as it sustainably and effectively transforms the lives of female coffee farmers. At its core is gender equality: women gain direct access to land titles, take on leadership roles in their cooperatives, and manage their own income. This provides not only financial security but also real control over their future.
Fair Pay for Sustainable Quality
Another key aspect is fair pay. In addition to the regular market price, the women receive a special Café Femenino premium for their organically and fairly produced coffee. This extra income strengthens their financial independence and allows investments in key areas such as education, health, and social infrastructure.
The positive effects on the communities are already noticeable: women report increased self-confidence, greater social recognition, a decline in domestic violence, and a more just family life. School attendance among girls has also risen significantly—a powerful sign of the project’s impact.
Long-Term Support from the Café Femenino Foundation
This commitment is supported in the long term by the independent Café Femenino Foundation. It specifically funds projects initiated by the women themselves—such as building wells, modernizing kitchens, or establishing educational facilities. Every coffee roaster participating in the program commits to donating part of their sales proceeds to the foundation. This creates a network of solidarity that empowers women—from origin to cup.
Voices of the Women
- “We were able to strengthen our self-esteem, gain respect at home and in the community, and promote the education of our daughters.” – Daiane, Brazil
- “Thanks to Café Femenino, we are in charge. I have land titles, my child went to university, and I’m constantly learning.” – Sabina, Peru
Café Femenino in Brazil – Coopfam
In Brazil, the cooperative Coopfam is part of the project. Here, women take on active roles: they roast, market, and sell their own coffee—thus boosting family income and their leadership skills.
