Organic fair trade coffee for home & office
Coffee

On our Tropical Mountains family farm, we grow certified organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup of coffee in your home.

To increase the aromatic diversity of our roasted coffees, we add gourmet coffees from all over the world. At Tropical Mountains, we use green coffees from Peru, Brazil, Ethiopia and Colombia, which we roast slowly and gently in Switzerland. To meet the different needs of coffee drinkers, we offer our coffees as whole beans, ground or as coffee capsules for the Nespresso® system.

We always rely on our roots: organic cultivation, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging.

ANGELITO Light Roast Organic Fair Trade Coffee Beans
  • strength

Thanks to the lighter roasting in the traditional drum roaster, the green coffee used develops its full flavour diversity. This organic Arabica coffee comes from the family's own farm in Peru or from neighbouring farmers in the region and is hand-roasted in Switzerland. The result is a coffee with aromas of nuts and nougat, accompanied by fruity notes. ANGELITO thus meets the taste of many lovers of lighter roasted coffee and espresso blends. Cappuccino drinkers will appreciate the fine fruit acids in combination with milk. Lovers of Café Crème will also find their coffee happiness with ANGELITO.Tropical Mountains ANGELITO: Community CoffeeFor ANGELITO coffee, we only use Arabica raw coffee that we grow on our own farm or that comes from farmers in the region. This so-called Community Coffee ensures that the local coffee farmers we work with have a good and fair living. The history of Tropical MountainsThe development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home. Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.Respect makes the tasteAnd as Tropical Mountains evolves, we are relying on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.

SUMATRA Orang Utan Coffee Beans
  • strength
  • acid
Once upon a time there was a forest man - or "orang utan" - in the northern highlands of Sumatra. He was also called the gardener of the rainforest, because wherever he moved, he broke rotten branches from the canopy. When more sunlight reached the forest floor, the seeds of the fruits eaten by the orangutan germinated and flourished along its path.Orang Utan Coffee ProjectToday, the orangutan, so perfectly in tune with its habitat, is threatened with extinction. Merciless deforestation and devastating forest fires are destroying its habitat. Coffee farmers are also being robbed of their livelihoods in the tropical rainforests by the destruction of the tropical rainforests. We do not want to and will not accept this. That is why we donate 0.50 € per kilogramme of exported green coffee to the Sumatra Orang Utan Protection Program SOCP of the Swiss foundation PanEco - and another 0.50 € to the small coffee farmers in the region. This enables them to comply with nature conservation guidelines, to refrain from deforestation and from hunting and trading with legally protected animals and plant species.Tropical Mountains SUMATRA: Single Origin CoffeeFor SUMATRA Orang Utan Coffee we only use green coffee from the Orang Utan Coffee Project. Organic-certified fair trade coffee

Discover here at Tropical Mountains an exquisite selection of fair trade and certified organic coffee that will not only tantalise your taste buds, but also have a positive impact on the coffee farmers in Peru, Brazil and Colombia from whom we source our coffee. Our passion for high-quality coffee goes hand in hand with our commitment to fair trade and environmental sustainability.

Fair trade coffee - more than just a pleasure

Our fair trade coffees stand for fair trade and fair wages, and for respect towards our fellow human beings. We source our coffee either directly from our family farm Tropical Mountains or from local Peruvian coffee farmers who work according to strict Fairtrade guidelines, share our values, grow organically and prioritise quality over quantity. This means that the coffee farmers receive a fair price for their labour, allowing them to invest in their farms and communities. We also now source gourmet coffees from around the world to meet the increased demand for Fair Trade certified organic coffees. Our coffees all score over 80 points and are officially speciality coffees or gourmet coffees.

The diversity of Peru in every cup

At Tropical Mountains, you can experience the aromatic diversity of Peru with our coffee from the country's best growing regions. From the high altitudes of the Andes, every sip tells the story of Peru's rich coffee culture. The combination of altitude, soil and climate gives our coffee the unique flavour that makes Tropical Mountains coffees so special.

Certified organic coffee - for your sustainable enjoyment

Our coffee beans not only bear the Fair Trade seal, but are also certified organic. This means that they are grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers. We favour organic farming not only to produce high-quality coffee, but also to make a contribution to environmental protection.

Fair trade coffee: more than just a trend

More and more people are recognising the importance of fair trade coffee. With our range, we not only offer you first-class coffee enjoyment, but also the opportunity to actively participate in a fairer world. Every purchase supports the living conditions of coffee farmers and helps to ensure that coffee cultivation in Peru remains sustainable and fair.

Direct trade coffee - the way to the best flavour

We favour direct trade and market the coffee grown by us and our coffee farmers ourselves to ensure that our Tropical Mountains coffee meets the highest quality standards. Direct contact with the coffee farmers ensures that we can work together to improve cultivation methods and living conditions.
Don't just enjoy coffee, but help to bring about positive change in the world with every sip. Choose Tropical Mountains Coffee - for fair-trade, certified organic coffee from the tropical regions of Peru and around the world.
