This organic coffee from Brazil is grown and picked exclusively by women. Women who have fought to find their place in the male-dominated coffee industry.

With every cup, you directly support Brazilian smallholder women farmers involved in the «Café Feminino» project, who grow their coffee organically with great dedication, trade fairly and lead self-determined lives.

Equality through land rights and self-determination

The Café Feminino project is exceptional in many ways, as it creates lasting and meaningful change in the lives of women coffee farmers. Equality lies at the heart of the project: women gain direct access to land titles, take on leadership positions within their cooperatives and independently manage their own income. This provides them not only with financial security, but also with genuine control over their future.

Fair payment for sustainable quality

Another central aspect is fair payment. In addition to the regular market price, the women receive a special Café Feminino premium for their organically and fairly produced coffees. This additional source of income strengthens their financial independence and enables investments in key areas of life such as education, healthcare and social infrastructure.

The positive effects on local communities are already noticeable: women report greater self-confidence, increased social recognition, a reduction in domestic violence and a more equitable family life. School attendance among girls has also increased significantly – a strong indication of the project’s impact.

Long-term support through the Café Feminino Foundation

This commitment is supported over the long term by the independent Café Feminino Foundation. It provides targeted assistance for projects initiated by the women in their own communities – such as building wells, modernising kitchens or establishing educational facilities. Every coffee roaster participating in the programme commits to donating a portion of its sales revenue to the foundation. This creates a network of solidarity that empowers women – from the coffee’s origin all the way to the cup.

Café Feminino in Brazil – Coopfam

In Brazil, the Coopfam cooperative is part of the project. Women take on active roles here: they roast, market and sell their own coffee, strengthening both their family income and their leadership skills.
