Coffee
On our Tropical Mountains family farm, we grow certified organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup of coffee in your home.
To increase the aromatic diversity of our roasted coffees, we add gourmet coffees from all over the world. At Tropical Mountains, we use green coffees from Peru, Brazil, Ethiopia and Colombia, which we roast slowly and gently in Switzerland. To meet the different needs of coffee drinkers, we offer our coffees as whole beans, ground or as coffee capsules for the Nespresso® system.
We always rely on our roots: organic cultivation, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging.

Cappuccino drinkers will appreciate the fine fruit acids in combination with milk. Lovers of Café Crème will also find their coffee happiness with ANGELITO.Tropical Mountains ANGELITO: Community CoffeeFor ANGELITO coffee, we only use Arabica raw coffee that we grow on our own farm or that comes from farmers in the region. This so-called Community Coffee ensures that the local coffee farmers we work with have a good and fair living. The history of Tropical MountainsThe development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home. Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.Respect makes the tasteAnd as Tropical Mountains evolves, we are relying on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.

A gentle morning dawns, the birds chirp their cheerful song as the sun rises over the lush Brazilian hills.
The flavors of our CALMOSO decaf dance gently on your tongue: a balanced acidity with a hint of nuts that will transport you to the sun-drenched landscapes of Brazil.
Perfect for those moments when you seek the cozy feeling of a cup of coffee without the caffeine buzz. Whether you're looking to start your day with a smile or enjoy a relaxed afternoon break, our Brazilian decaffeinated coffee is the perfect companion for your sensory journey.
Tropical Mountains CALMOSO: Single Origin Decaf
For our decaffeinated CALMOSO coffee, we exclusively use CO2 naturally decaffeinated Arabica coffees sourced from the Brazilian highlands.
CO2 decaffeination leaves no chemical residues in the coffee. All the ingredients that shape the aroma and flavor of the coffee are fully preserved. This way, you can enjoy the full coffee flavor with CALMOSO.
The Story of Fair Trade Organic Coffee from Tropical Mountains
Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm, 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dreamt of organic and fair trade coffee – traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.
Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our possibilities to expand the range of fair trade and organic certified coffees.
Respect Makes the Taste
And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we rely entirely on our roots: Organic farming, Direct Fair Trade, and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools, and finance charitable projects. Because we believe that respect makes for excellent coffee taste. Respect for our employees, the coffee plant, and nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family is growing – our values remain.

SUMATRA Orang Utan Coffee Beans

Once upon a time there was a forest man - or "orang utan" - in the northern highlands of Sumatra. He was also called the gardener of the rainforest, because wherever he moved, he broke rotten branches from the canopy. When more sunlight reached the forest floor, the seeds of the fruits eaten by the orangutan germinated and flourished along its path.Orang Utan Coffee ProjectToday, the orangutan, so perfectly in tune with its habitat, is threatened with extinction. Merciless deforestation and devastating forest fires are destroying its habitat. Coffee farmers are also being robbed of their livelihoods in the tropical rainforests by the destruction of the tropical rainforests. We do not want to and will not accept this. That is why we donate 0.50 € per kilogramme of exported green coffee to the Sumatra Orang Utan Protection Program SOCP of the Swiss foundation PanEco - and another 0.50 € to the small coffee farmers in the region. This enables them to comply with nature conservation guidelines, to refrain from deforestation and from hunting and trading with legally protected animals and plant species.Tropical Mountains SUMATRA: Single Origin CoffeeFor SUMATRA Orang Utan Coffee we only use green coffee from the Orang Utan Coffee Project. In this way, we support coffee farmers from our network or community by purchasing their gourmet coffee for the SUMATRA directly and without intermediaries. The coffee farmers we work with thus have a good and fair income. The history of Tropical MountainsThe development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru.
