Tropical Mountains COLOMBIA ARABICA Green Coffee: Community Coffee

We support coffee farmers from our network or community by buying their gourmet organic green coffee directly and without intermediaries.  This gives the coffee farmers we work with a good and fair living.

The history of Tropical Mountains

The development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.

Respect makes the taste

And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we rely on our roots: organic, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.

The Story of Tropical Mountains

Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small coffee farm deep in the Peruvian highlands, 12 hours by car from Lima. Peru-born Gisella Iriarte and Swiss entrepreneur Thomas Schwegler shared a vision: coffee grown with care, complete transparency from origin to cup, and a company built on respect and responsibility.

Over time, we have expanded our range to include exceptional gourmet coffees from trusted partners around the world. And while Tropical Mountains continues to grow, we remain true to our roots: building long-term relationships throughout the entire supply chain and dedicating ourselves to producing outstanding coffee – with curiosity, care, and a commitment to sustainability.

Today, we are proud to be a certified B Corporation – part of a global movement that uses business as a force for good. We support local communities, improve education in coffee-growing regions, and fund meaningful, sustainable projects.

Respect Makes Coffee Taste Better

We show respect for people, coffee plants, and the planet. That’s why we offset all CO₂ emissions across our supply chain and continuously work to reduce our ecological footprint. Our family is growing – but our values remain the same.
