This Colombian ARABICA green coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,500 m to 1,900 m in the Risaralda region. The COLOMBIA ARABICA green coffee from the Apia cooperative is certified organic and fair trade.

The cooperative harvests the Castia rosarios and Caturra varieties. The green coffee beans are washed, processed and sun-dried.

COLOMBIA ARABICA Green coffee from the coffee farmers of Apia

The cooperative of Apia is dedicated to the production and export of certified organic speciality coffees. Members receive regular training to enable them to grow independently and sustainably. The environment is protected and fair dealings between members are encouraged.

The village of Apia itself is located in the middle of the three national parks Tatama, Agualinda and Chilla de San Juan and borders the Departamento de Choco. The region has the highest bird density in Colombia and is part of Colombia's "Cultural Coffee Region".

Tropical Mountains COLOMBIA ARABICA Green Coffee: Community Coffee

We support coffee farmers from our network or community by buying their gourmet organic green coffee directly and without intermediaries.  This gives the coffee farmers we work with a good and fair living.

The history of Tropical Mountains

The development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.

Respect makes the taste

And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we rely on our roots: organic, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.
