For FAMOSO ground coffee, we exclusively use Arabica raw coffee from central Peru.
The Story of Tropical Mountains
The development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm, 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fairly traded coffee – traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.
In the meantime, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our assortment, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our possibilities to further develop our range of fair-trade and organic-certified coffees.
Respect Creates the Taste
And as Tropical Mountains develops, we rely entirely on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade, and sustainable packaging. We are members of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools, and finance charitable projects. We believe that respect creates excellent coffee taste. Respect for our employees, the coffee plant, and nature as a whole. That’s why we also compensate for the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family is growing – our values remain.
