The Story of Tropical Mountains

The story of Tropical Mountains begins in 2012 as a small farm, 12 hours’ drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of producing organic and fair-trade coffee – traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.

Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have joined our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our opportunities to grow the offering of fair-trade and organically certified coffees.

Respect Creates Flavor

And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we rely on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade, and sustainable packaging. We are members of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools, and fund community projects. Because we believe that respect creates excellent coffee flavor. Respect for our employees, the coffee plant, and nature as a whole. That’s why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family is growing – our values remain.
