Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.

Tropical Mountains ROBUSTO Espresso/Lungo coffee capsules: Community Coffee
For the ROBUSTO coffee we use Canephora (Robusta) green coffee from Tanzania. The Arabica green coffee comes from Peru. In this way, we support coffee farmers from our network or community by purchasing their gourmet organic coffee for the ROBUSTO directly and without intermediaries. This gives the coffee farmers we work with a good and fair living.Compostable capsule alternatives for the Nespresso®* system
The coffee capsules we use conserve natural resources. That is why both the capsules and their packaging are made from purely natural materials. Since aluminium is deliberately avoided, the capsules and packaging are completely biodegradable. Read here how you can gently dispose of or compost the packaging.
Zero Waste
We consistently pursue the idea of Zero Waste. The 21 capsule containers can be refilled again and again. This is done with the Refill Bag, which is available in two different sizes. The used up bags can be used in many ways or collected and returned to us for reuse. The history of Tropical Mountains fair trade organic coffee
Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair-trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.
Respect makes the taste
And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we are relying on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.*) Nespresso is a registered trademark of Société de Produits Nestlé S.A., Vevey (CH).
