CASCARA Coffee Cherries Tea Organic Fair Trade

Hard shell, soft core? Congratulations. With me, the coffee cherry, it's the other way round. You enjoy my hard core, the coffee bean, every day. But my soft shell, the cascara, is not without its own. It contains vitamin B2, vitamin E and valuable antioxidants for your health. Plus, of course, the tried and tested stimulant caffeine.

You can brew me like a tea: Simply add 6 g of cascara to 2dl of hot water, let it steep for 5 minutes and then add some honey. Done.

The CASCARA coffee cherry infusion is also suitable as an iced tea or for cool drinks. It increases the level of valuable antioxidants in the body and gives energy.

CASCARA lies somewhere at the interface between coffee and tea - although it comes from the coffee plant, the drink does not taste like coffee at all. CASCARA is often described as having a sweet, fruity taste with notes of rosehip, hibiscus, cherry, red currant, mango or even tobacco.

Tropical Mountains CASCARA: Community Coffee

For CASCARA coffee cherry tea, we only use coffee cherries that we grow directly on our own farm or that come from farmers in the region. By using an actual waste product, the pulp of the coffee cherry, we ensure that the local coffee farmers we work with have an additional income.

The history of Tropical Mountains

The development of Tropical Mountains began in 2012 as a small farm 12 hours' drive from Lima, Peru. Peruvian Gisella Iriarte and Swiss Thomas Schwegler dream of organic and fair trade coffee - traceable from the bean in the tropical highlands to the fragrant cup at home.

Meanwhile, gourmet coffees from around the world have been added to our range, complementing the coffees from our family farm. They expand our ability to offer fair trade and certified organic coffees.

Respect makes the taste

And as Tropical Mountains evolves, we are relying on our roots: organic farming, direct fair trade and sustainable packaging. We are a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), support local schools and fund charitable projects. Because we believe that respect is what makes coffee taste excellent. Respect for our employees, for the coffee plant and for nature as a whole. That's why we also offset the CO2 emissions from our value chain. Our family grows - our values remain.
